FEBRUARY

February 21Brookfield Congregational Church invites you to the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper at 6:00pm. The event will include a traditional Mardi Gras King Cake, and the children will be hiding the “alleluias” until Easter Sunday. The service will include special music, a Lenten message, intinction of ashes and Holy Communion. All are invited to join with them as we begin this holy season.

GriefShare, a special help seminar and support group for people experiencing grief following the death of a loved one will be held on Thursday evenings, now through the end of March at East Brookfield Baptist Church, 262 E. Main Street, East Brookfield.

Encourage YOUR Health Club to help the American Cancer Society save lives and create more birthdays through fun and fitness. March 3Charlton Baptist Church is hosting a free showing of the movie, “Courageous,” about four police officers that make a commitment to become heroes in their own families, especially to their children. Rainbow Childhood Development Center is seeking children’s new winter clothing and boots. Sizes to fit children ages 6 week to 12 years are being sought. Compassion Pregnancy of Worcester is seeking Plumbers, HVAC experts, Electricians, Carpenters & Construction managers to volunteer for a new facility at 358 Shrewsbury Street. The project requires interior work only and volunteers can work Saturday and evenings or otherwise at their convenience. The Salvation Army is providing assistance to qualifying families, who need helping paying their heating bill, through the Good Neighbor Fund. For information call your local Salvation army office.

SaturdaysAmateur Astronomy Meetings from 7:30pm to 10:00pm at the Anna Maria College: Science Building in Paxton, MA. Meetings take place on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month. On the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month members meet for telescope building. All meetings take place regardless of weather, have telescopes for observing if weather permits, and are open to the public and free to attend. New members of all ages are welcome!
